CEDC Awards Two Small Business Grants - September 2026

The Columbia Economic Development Corporation recently awarded two Small Business Grants for local business each in the amount of $1,000.

Angry, Young, and Poor which recently moved to 141 Locust Street from 356 W Orange St in Lancaster, will use their grant to paint a mural on the outside wall of their shop. They have been in business for 30 years and sell band shirts, posters, vinyl records, cds and more. They have thousands of followers on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Tik-Tok and X. Owners Jeff and Andrea Anderson will be a welcomed addition to Columbia’s Downtown Business District.

Shupp’s Barber Shop, located at 270 Locust Street will use their funds for the awning that is above the front window of their shop. The location operated as a barber shop since 1912 when the Smith Family owned it up to 1976, and sold the building and business to Cliff Shupp. Cliff sold the business to his son Edwin who now operates the business with his son Sage.
